Chapter 5.

How to manage our Army's Logistics.

In WWII:GC the player does not control anything related with logistics, this is one of the key elements to understand the game.
All that a battalion needs in terms of moving around and fighting is a value that we will call Supplies. Each unit has an internal quantity of supplies that is replaced as they are consumed.
These replacements come from the closest accessible Store or Town.
These Stores or Towns order more supplies from other stores, located in the rearguard, as they distribute them to the various nearest battalions.

Be careful to ensure you keep your units within access to the supplies and avoid running out of them.
The supplies have a direct impact on the capacity to recuperate efficiency, since without them the unit becomes totally useless.
So, a Store or Town will carry on consuming its supplies until they run out, and any units under siege will be unable to recover their strength.
The only way to reopen a supply line and get hold of a few supplies is by calling in the airforce to airlift some in.

How my Army is organized.

The army is organized in two different types of formations: Regiments and Divisions.

The Regiments are formations consisting of no more than four Battalions. Their special feature is that they can be deployed in preconfigured formations and also maintain a cohesion between the different types of battalions when moving.

The Divisions are groups consisting of no more than four Regiments, very useful for moving a large number of units at the same time.

You can also create your own battalion groups during the games, although they are not cohesive and are unable to deploy.
